Ben Mihail has spent over 30 years living in central Victoria, with most of his youth in the Castlemaine area, and he's lived for over ten years in Bendigo.
Over many years, Ben has learned about community servitude through various voluntary roles which he sees as the cornerstone of any member of parliament.
One of the main areas that Ben is passionate about is bringing the community back together again after more than two years of division and isolation in the wake of the government's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Like a large majority of people in the Bendigo and surrounding areas, Ben has felt firsthand the hardship of the disproportionate mandates and directions of an overreaching state Labor government made possible by the inaction of the federal Liberal government.
"What we need is to unite as a people, end the discrimination and segregation that the federal and state governments have created, and finally learn to live with COVID. The major parties have destroyed Australia’s economy and values. This needs to be the election of the people. The election of the minor, freedom-loving parties," he says.
In bringing the community back together, Ben believes this is the time to see the Australian economy really take off by way of an upgrade to major infrastructure such as national roads as well as getting people into long-term jobs—especially out in the regional areas—with Australian made products.
"We have a lot of people in central Victoria that want to work, so let’s make that pathway easier for them. Let’s give them our support. One Nation wants to see Australians land the Australian jobs rather than imported overseas labour."
Ben is also a strong believer in increasing the pension for many Australians who have, for far too long, been living either on or below the poverty line.
"Our older generation have made their fair contributions to this country over many years. It’s time we look after them and upgrading the basic couple pension will go a long way to helping out with the rising costs of everyday living."
Ben brings a tenacious common sense approach to politics without being tied down by the tired old policies of the major parties that do nothing but disadvantage Australia. He is a big believer in meaningful community engagement.
"What’s been missing in Australian politics for a number of years is that positive connection between the people and their local members. Instead of just looking for the next photo opportunity to make you look good, have a genuine conversation with people so that you can take their needs and concerns to Canberra and actually represent them."
Vote One Nation’s Ben Mihail for the seat of Bendigo and watch real change happen in the region.
