Colin Hughes is Pauline Hanson’s One Nation candidate for Lyne in New South Wales. A loyal supporter of the party for more than 25 years, Colin has never voted for another party in his life. He previously ran as the One Nation candidate for Whitlam in the 2022 Federal Election, receiving over 7,500 votes, and is now bringing that dedication and experience to the seat of Lyne.
Colin has served the party faithfully in multiple roles—he was President of the Wallsend branch, Treasurer of the Newcastle branch, and even worked as Pauline Hanson’s bodyguard during the Newcastle by-election. His deep roots in the party and unwavering loyalty are matched by his passion to see Australia return to a country governed by common sense, national pride, and strong leadership.
Born in Forbes and now living in Wingham, Colin is a straight-talking, no-nonsense bloke who understands the importance of restoring trust in politics. He believes that previous governments have let the country down, leading to declining living standards, loss of national identity, and growing frustration in the regions.
A former member of the Early Risers Toastmasters Club, Colin is no stranger to public speaking and connecting with everyday Australians. He’s focused on rebuilding our economy, securing Australia's borders, ending wasteful spending, and putting everyday Australians first—especially those in regional communities who have been ignored for far too long.
Colin Hughes is stepping up to be a strong voice for Lyne—one that echoes the values of hard work, self-reliance, and Aussie pride.
I’ve backed Pauline and One Nation for 25 years. Now I’m stepping up again to help get Australia back on track.
