One Nation Victoria's Rikkie-Lee Tyrrell, MLC, recently embarked on a comprehensive tour of the Murray Darling Basin to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the delicate balance required between all stakeholders. Beginning in Mildura with the OZ Fish team, an NGO committed to restoring and educating the public about the local waterways, the tour continued with a driving tour of Hattah-Kulkyne National Park, meetings with the Mildura Regional Council, leading table grape growers in Robinvale, key irrigators and council members in Swan Hill, and the Central Murray Environmental Floodplains group in Cohuna. The tour concluded with visits to the Tallangatta Expo and Dartmouth Dam, where productive dialog was encouraged with locals. Rikkie-Lee Tyrrell's Murray Darling Basin tour was aimed at gaining a more in-depth understanding of conservation and farming distribution projects that have been both successful and those that still require work.
