However, One Nation asserts that the tax is discriminatory and racially biassed. Recent indicators suggest that the tax's plans may already be in action, according to a DailyMail report. Senator Lidia Thorpe declined to comment on the tax, referring to it as "racist rhetoric." Pauline Hanson, the leader of One Nation, has vehemently denounced the "Pay the Rent" programme, claiming that it is motivated by greed and "racist identity victim politics." According to Hanson, all Australians have an equal claim to ownership of the country regardless of their background.
