The Liberals, who are charged with turning into a branch of the Labor Party, helped pass the bill, which is considered as an assault on the nation's constitution. Turning the referendum process over to residents was One Nation's attempt to save taxpayers $100 million and give everyone a voice, but their amendments were rejected.
