Glen Cookson is an automotive technician who loves his cars, his community, and his country. He faces the world with an outgoing approach and is a strong believer in applying yourself to get things done.
But how Glen asks, do we apply ourselves when governments just get in our way?
“The pandemic has been a big wake-up call for a lot of Australians. It’s alarming how quickly and easily our governments have been able to shut borders, shut us in our homes, shut down the economy, shut down entire cities, and shut out people who won’t be coerced by COVID-19 vaccine mandates. It’s disturbing to see how these governments have so obviously relished this extraordinary power they’ve wielded over us. And it’s frightening to see how reluctant they are to let this power go.
“I’m standing for One Nation in Rankin because Pauline Hanson has stood for the Australian people against these attacks on our freedoms, our rights, and some of the most fundamental principles of Australian democracy. I completely support her call for a Royal Commission into the management of the pandemic by the Australian governments, both state and federal. The advice governments have relied upon to justify lockdowns and mandates which have destroyed jobs, families and businesses needs to be brought out in the open, and the lessons we’ve learned need to inform how we manage the next inevitable pandemic. Governments have actively worked to demonise and silence any dissent from their pandemic agenda.”
Glen is also an accomplished practitioner and teacher of various martial arts. He likes to unwind by spending time with his family, going to muscle car shows, and listening to his favourite heavy metal bands.
“I’m not part of the out-of-touch political class. I’m a member of this community, which gets little from the short-term thinking of the major parties. Rankin needs a representative who will work for the people, not big corporate and union donors.
“I’m standing for One Nation in Rankin because like Pauline, I want to put Australia and Australians first. That means exiting international agreements like the UN refugee convention and Paris, investing in secure and affordable energy, and increasing the aged pension.
“I’m also keen to see reform in Australia’s broken family law and child support system, immigration reduced to sustainable levels, and tax reform which ensures foreign-owned multinationals operating in Australia pay their fair share of tax. I will be pushing for all of these outcomes if I am elected as One Nation’s member for Rankin.”
