Standing up for freedom, families and the future of Tasmania.
Dr Stefan Popescu is a proud resident of Franklin, a father of three and a passionate advocate for local communities, personal freedoms and evidence-based policy.
Born in Romania, Stefan and his family fled communist oppression in search of a freer life, an experience that shaped his deep commitment to defending Australian sovereignty, bodily autonomy, and national values. He knows firsthand the dangers of unchecked government power and believes Australians deserve a future built on truth, transparency and self-determination.
Stefan’s career spans a wide range of industries, from panel beating and filmmaking to academia and the arts. Today, he operates a home renovation and landscaping business, giving him practical insight into the challenges facing tradespeople, families, and small business owners across Tasmania.
“I’ve worked with my hands, I’ve taught in classrooms, and I’ve stood behind a camera lens. What ties it all together is my belief in people, their ability to think for themselves, solve problems locally, and build something better when they are helped not hindered by government.”
Stefan is running with Pauline Hanson’s One Nation because he believes it is the only party truly fighting for Australian citizens, protecting farmers, resisting globalist interference and restoring common sense to government.
His priorities include protecting Tasmania’s environment and industry from foreign control, ensuring local decisions are made by Tasmanians, and advocating for real reforms in media transparency, education and national security.
“I escaped communism to live in a free country, I'll never stop fighting to keep it that way.”
