Rebecca Konz is proud to represent Pauline Hanson’s One Nation as the candidate for Groom. Having lived and worked in Toowoomba for over 25 years, Rebecca has raised three sons alongside her husband, a serving defence force member, while balancing a diverse career in fitness, child protection, and community advocacy. Rebecca’s life experiences have cemented her passion for supporting families, strengthening communities, and ensuring a brighter future for the region.

Holding a BSc (Hons) from the University of Southern Queensland and Certificates III and IV in Fitness, Rebecca has spent more than 20 years as a fitness leader. Her decade of work in child protection (2008–2018) took her from Toowoomba to Thursday Island, where she saw firsthand the challenges faced by vulnerable families. “Every child deserves a safe, stable home with positive role models,” Rebecca says. “That’s how we address youth crime—by supporting families and providing opportunities for young people.”

Rebecca is passionate about addressing the cost-of-living crisis, which she knows is placing immense pressure on families in Groom. High energy prices, rising fuel costs, and soaring grocery bills are issues she is committed to tackling, aligning with One Nation’s goal of creating affordability for Australian households. “When families can afford the basics, it reduces stress and creates a more stable environment for children,” Rebecca explains.

Healthcare access is another priority for Rebecca. She is determined to address long hospital ramping times and ensure timely, quality medical care at Toowoomba Base Hospital. “Health starts with individuals, but they need the right support to make informed decisions,” Rebecca says.

With a focus on strengthening families, supporting local healthcare, and alleviating financial pressures, Rebecca Konz is dedicated to making Groom a thriving, safe, and prosperous community.
