One Nation elected by the people, for the people—together let’s make Australia great again.
Posted on Candidates by One Nation · April 21, 2025 1:38 PMLeo Curtain, Pauline Hanson’s One Nation candidate for Wannon, is a passionate Australian patriot determined to restore strength, common sense, and accountability to Canberra. Born to hardworking parents from country Queensland and Victoria, Leo understands the grit it takes to succeed. His early years in Papua New Guinea, where his family established a successful civil construction company, gave him a strong sense of adaptability and enterprise.

Leo served over 20 years in the Queensland Police Service, working in both urban and rural communities. He developed policy still in use today and believes firmly in practical policing and community-focused governance. Later, he returned to his roots in civil construction, managing projects across Australia and PNG.
A father and grandfather to a blended family of 7 children and 21 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Leo says raising a large family has strengthened his resolve to protect Australia's future. His experiences on Manus Island gave him first-hand insight into the failures of Australia’s immigration and welfare systems.
Leo is a fierce advocate for reducing government debt through cutting unnecessary expenditure, eliminating wasteful programs, and dismantling red tape that cripples farmers, tradies, and small business owners. He’s passionate about getting Australians back into trades, nurses back on the wards, and police back on the beat—where they’re needed most.
With experience across government and private sectors, Leo hears the cries to "get rid of the career politicians" and promises to be a forthright and fearless advocate for Wannon. He believes in real representation, not bureaucracy—and he’s ready to fight for Australians.
