Trevor Hammond is a dedicated family man, tradesman, and long-time resident of Holt who understands the financial pressures everyday Australians are facing. With a deep commitment to his community and a no-nonsense approach to politics, Trevor is running with One Nation to fight for real solutions to the cost-of-living crisis, affordable housing, and energy security.
A proud Victorian, Trevor has lived in the Holt area for over 43 years. As a self-employed tradesman in the building industry, he has firsthand experience of the skyrocketing material costs, unpredictable interest rates, and excessive taxes that are crippling small businesses and homeowners. “The system is broken. Our government is making it harder for working Australians to own a home, afford essentials and run a business. It’s time to push back.”
Trevor has been actively involved in local community affairs, standing up against bureaucratic overreach and advocating for sensible policies. He played a key role in promoting a community awareness program against a hazardous waste transfer station, standing his ground for weeks despite pressure from government officials. “If I say I’m going to fight for something, I fight. I don’t back down when it comes to protecting my community.”
Trevor is committed to One Nation’s policy of easing the cost of living by halving the fuel excise for at least a year, reducing housing costs by placing a five-year moratorium on GST for building materials on new homes under $1 million, and cutting unnecessary government fees that make up 44% of home construction costs.
“We need real cost-cutting policies, not just empty promises. Reducing the tax burden on Australians will help stabilize the housing industry, make power more affordable, and bring back financial relief to families.”
Trevor also supports increasing baseload coal and gas energy production to drive down power costs by 20%, banning foreign home ownership to ensure Australians aren’t priced out of the market, and raising the pensioner tax-free threshold to $35,000.
Trevor believes in the Australian way of life and is committed to restoring national sovereignty by removing Australia from globalist agreements that put foreign interests before Australians. “It’s time to bring back Australian values, prosperity, and common sense leadership. We need to focus on what’s best for Australia and stop being dictated to by international bodies.”
With his decades of experience in the trades, business, and community service, Trevor is ready to fight for the people of Holt and deliver real, practical solutions that make a difference.
The government is making it harder for working Australians to get ahead. I’m standing with One Nation to fight for affordable housing, lower energy prices, and policies that put Australians first.
