I can't believe this is the son of the great Aussie Larrikin, Steve Irwin (“Toon in for round two,” DT, 19/10).

Steve would have seen humour in the way One Nation has massaged real events in the political and media world, then put them into a comical format. He would have had a good belly laugh.

This is the way Australia used to be, when we were known around the world as good natured and with a sense of humour knocking each other, which ultimately created the saying “taking the piss”.

I'm afraid Robert has been so smothered by the realm of the entertainment world that brings us “reality shows” that are managed by directors and producers, he has lost his grasp on real life world he was born into, which was created by an Aussie legend, his father.
