Majority of Australia Under Native Title – Enough is Enough
To the Honourable President and Members of the Senate in Parliament assembled:
The petition of the undersigned residents of Australia draws to the attention of the Senate:
Here you go, I have tweaked it slightly, have I gone too far? I started simplifying some of the language and reiterated the race based division elements of this. I also hate the words “sustainable and equitable” they are propagandist words of the left:
That the current Native Title system creates an uneven playing field by giving Native Title claimants Federal Government funding to cover legal costs, while denying the same support to councils, pastoralists, small landholders, and other respondents forced to defend their property and interests.
Across Australia, there are currently hundreds of Native Title claims either in progress or anticipated. These claims often impose substantial legal costs, delays, and development restrictions on communities and individuals who receive no public assistance to participate in the process fairly. In some regions, local governments have been compelled to divert ratepayer funds to defend claims, while Indigenous claimants receive taxpayer-funded legal representation.
This systemic imbalance has led to stalled development, lost investment, and deepening divisions in communities across Australia. It's wrong for the Federal Government to fund one side of a legal battle based solely on race, while councils, farmers, and landholders are left to fight without any support.
Your petitioners therefore ask the Senate to:
- Call on the Federal Government to immediately cease all public funding for Native Title claims to enable a level legal playing field for all Australians regardless of heritage or identity; and
- Commission a national inquiry into the long-term social, economic, and legal impacts of Native Title on communities, landowners, and investment across the country, with a view to reforming the system to reflect modern expectations of fairness, transparency, and equality before the law.
