Free money for batteries?
Thousands of dollars towards your home battery, sounds like a great deal right? Well here's the sneaky catch.
If you take the government's money to buy a battery, you have to have a system installed that will allow them to take it over and drain it to the grid in the future.
The government is spending $2.3 billion dollars of your money to subsidise up to 30% of an installed home battery.
But here's the catch. If you take a single dollar of that government money the battery MUST be capable of participating in a virtual power plant or VPP.
So what's a Virtual Power Plant?
The government will tell you this is all about choice but there's hundreds of horror stories.
People who have signed up to virtual power plants have already had their batteries taken over and drained without their consent.
The most concerning part is that even if you never want to sign up to a virtual power plant, the government is forcing you to have a battery that can in the future.
When that's in place, what's to stop them forcing you into draining the battery to the grid in the future?
We know the electricity grid is getting more unstable. If it keeps getting worse under the net zero policies, it will become an even worse crisis than it already is.
That means with smart meters, the government could force you to drain the battery to the grid when they want.
Any one who bought their battery under the government subsidy would lose the ability to be self reliant.
The Government would get free use of an entire battery that you paid 70% for.
This isn't just theory. The Government and Market operators own plans talk about an explosion in what they call Consumer Energy Resources. That's things in your house like your solar panels and batteries.
They assume there will be billions of dollars of these bought by Australians, and they'll be able to use that to sure up the grid, at no cost to the government.
While Australians think they're getting a sweet deal for 30% off, the government is the ones who are really getting your battery to use at a 70% discount to buying it themselves.
So remember, when it comes to government money - there's no such thing as a free lunch.
Only One Nation would stop these sneaky takeovers in the name of net zero, and simply make sure you get the cheapest electricity possible whenever you turn on the lights.
