Australians are being lied to. Again. In his latest piece in the Australian (1.8.2025), Adam Creighton lays it out plain: the climate cult has been dead wrong for decades, and the so-called “experts” behind Net Zero have been dishing out dud predictions like they’re going out of fashion.

Remember when they said Britain would freeze like Siberia by 2020? Or when Al Gore told us the Arctic would be ice-free by 2013? Or when the UN declared the arrival of “global boiling”? All complete rubbish. And now we've got Ross Garnaut, the government’s go-to climate economist, admitting the Albanese Government won’t even meet its own insane emissions targets. Yet they want to double down and push even harder. It’s madness.

Ross Garnaut once claimed renewables could power the country cheaply and reliably. Fast forward to today – prices have tripled and blackouts are through the roof. The so-called “green hydrogen revolution”? A $100 billion dud. Ninety-nine per cent of those projects have collapsed, even with massive taxpayer handouts. It’s snake oil dressed up as science.

South Australia, the supposed poster child for renewables, is now stuck with the most expensive power in the country – and they’ve had to fire up diesel generators to keep the lights on. That’s what this Net Zero fantasy delivers: expensive, unreliable energy and billions wasted on nonsense that doesn’t work.

Meanwhile, China and India, who couldn’t care less about Net Zero, are ramping up coal and buying it from us hand over fist. Russia’s playing along for show, and even the US under Trump is walking away from the scam altogether. They’ve scrapped solar and wind subsidies and reclassified carbon dioxide, you know, the stuff you breathe out, as not a pollutant. The world’s waking up. It’s only Australia and Europe still punishing their own people for no environmental gain.

And here’s the kicker, Garnaut praised the Albanese government’s efforts as “herculean.” Well, if wrecking the economy, burdening industry with the Safeguard Mechanism, and nationalising power bills is “herculean,” we want no part of it.

This week, One Nation took action. We’ve introduced legislation to put a stop to this Net Zero insanity, to end the scam once and for all. Australians are paying more and getting less, all for climate targets that the rest of the world laughs at behind closed doors.

Adam Creighton’s piece proves what we’ve been saying all along: Net Zero is not just unachievable, it’s a con. A Trojan horse for economic sabotage, pushed by the elites and paid for by hardworking Aussies.
