Investigation into Wage Theft for Coal Miners in the Hunter - Malcolm Roberts

Senator Malcolm Roberts is driving a major Senate inquiry into wage theft allegations in Australia’s black coal mining sector, as the Fair Work Ombudsman investigates 18 cases involving 25 workers and 17 employers. Estimated underpayments could reach $1.3 billion, making this the largest wage theft case in Australia’s history. One Nation, which has advocated for this probe since 2019, has been invited to submit its findings.
