We will scrap the Multicultural Minister and the Office for Multiculturalism. We will not pursue an approach to governing that promotes separating our communities, which is exactly what multiculturalism does. 

In keeping with this, we will also cease funding government-funded translation services. The English language is the glue that binds our society together. If you do not speak English, under no circumstances should you be able to settle in Australia. Translation services indulge the view that not speaking English is a perfectly legitimate decision, which it isn’t if you want to permanently settle here. Far from helping integration, translation services that are extensively funded by the government are a barrier to effective integration.
