Farley sworn in as Member for Farrer
History was made this week as the first One Nation candidate to ever win a seat in the House of Representatives, David Farley, was officially sworn in as the Member for Farrer.
David took his oath of office on Tuesday with Barnaby Joyce by his side and One Nation's senators looking on.

"It was an honour to take my oath of office and take my seat in the House of Representatives this week," David said.
"I look forward to delivering my maiden speech soon.
"I am here for the people, communities and commerce of Farrer. Like the rest of Australia, people in Farrer are struggling with the impacts of net zero and mass immigration on their cost of living, housing availability and affordability, and their services and infrastructure.
"Farrer is also an area where jobs and the local economy rely strongly on irrigated agriculture and horticulture. One of my major priorities will be to ensure the voices of my community are heard in the water reform space.
"An important emerging issue in this space is new legislation allowing the New South Wales government to flood private land to enable environmental and indigenous ‘cultural’ flows under the Basin Plan without permission from – or any guarantee of compensation for – the landholder.
"It’s a direct attack on farmers’ property rights. It will further reduce agricultural productivity, increase farmers’ costs, devalue affected land, impact farmers’ credit and increase insurance risks. It’s something I’m dedicated to fighting along with many farmers and landholders in my community."
David's already on the job for his electorate!
