Focus on Business, Family and Living Costs

Capricornia's candidates in the 2025 Federal Election have placed a strong emphasis on local businesses, the cost of living and family values.

As a small business operator, Pauline Hanson's One Nation candidate Cheryl Kempton said she was keen to undo the damage to the small business sector in Central Queensland that had occurred under Labor.

“Small business is the engine room of regional economies in places like Capricornia, and instead of harming them as Labor has, I want to support them,” Ms Kempton said.

“Labor's cost-of-living crisis is hurting the tourism, hospitality and retail sector, while their industrial relations changes are imposing heavy compliance costs and burdens, and making it virtually impossible to hire casual employees.”

Stephen Andrew, who formerly represented Mirani for One Nation, as an independent and for Stephen Andrew is running for Trumpet of Patriots. (AAP) Katter's Australian Party, is returning to run as the Trumpet of Patriots Capricornia candidate.
