Pauline Hanson Warns Against Labor’s Mining Tax Push: “Don’t Destroy the Industry That Funds the Nation”

Senator Pauline Hanson has issued a stark warning over Labor’s possible move to introduce a new or increased mining tax, labelling it a betrayal of Australia’s most vital industry. With the mining sector contributing over $100 billion annually, including royalties, corporate tax, and PAYE income, Hanson says any additional tax burden could cripple regional jobs and push Australia into economic decline. She criticised the exclusion of major mining voices—including Gina Rinehart—from Labor’s upcoming Productivity Roundtable, calling it a deliberate snub. Hanson argues that Labor’s high-spending agenda, immigration surge, and climate-driven infrastructure overhaul are already placing the country under financial stress. A mining tax, she says, would be “the final blow.”
