Immigration Figures are Spiking its time to Reinforce Australian Values
Lucy Zelić’s opinion article in the Daily Telegraph (21-8-2025) is a devastating confirmation of everything One Nation has been warning about for years. She puts it plainly: “Has anyone bothered to ask where the hell these new arrivals are going to live?” With 279,000 migrants flooding in within just six months and almost half a million expected this financial year, Australians are being forced to compete for housing, jobs, and services. This is the direct result of Labor’s reckless immigration agenda, which Zelić correctly identifies as “a strategy to stay in power, not improve the country.”
Her words cut through the spin. Labor isn’t building homes, lowering power bills, or securing hospitals. They’re importing votes. Zelić exposes the political calculation when she cites pollster Kos Samaras: “85% of the Indian diaspora voted for the Labor Party at the last election.” That’s why Anthony Albanese has supercharged the migrant intake, not for the benefit of Australia, but to shore up Labor’s grip on government.
Meanwhile, the Liberals stand paralysed. Zelić nails it when she says, “The truth is, the Libs don’t even like themselves.” Instead of standing up for Australians, the Liberals have spent years in an endless internal tug-of-war, playing the “do we or don’t we agree on policies” game while Labor runs riot. No wonder, as Zelić observes, “the broader conservative base … have found more of a home within Pauline Hanson’s One Nation Party.”
Under Labor, the English requirements for visas have been watered down, radical clerics openly claim that Muslims are “belittled” without Sharia Law, and students who “cannot speak basic English” are walking away with prestigious university degrees. This is a complete betrayal of the Australian people.
Zelić exposes how the left shuts down debate with smears, writing: “For a long time, the left have employed cheap and predictable tactics to try and shut down debate around immigration.” She reminds us that “you don’t have to be white to be a racist, or to succeed in this country,” smashing apart the tired lies Labor and their activist friends rely on to silence ordinary Australians.
And her conclusion could not be clearer: migrants like her father, who worked, paid taxes, and embraced our country, are now being forced to bankroll those “more interested in being on welfare, bringing foreign issues to our shores, and burning our national flag.”
One Nation has been the only party brave enough to say this from day one: cut immigration to sustainable levels, restore Australian values, defend our freedoms, and put the interests of Australians first. Labor treats immigration as a numbers game. The Liberals are too gutless to stop them. Only Pauline Hanson’s One Nation is willing to fight for the people who built this nation and love it still.
