Lee Hanson Rejects Tax Hikes, Calls for $90 Billion in Spending Cuts

On Paul Murray Live, Lee Hanson of One Nation slammed proposals to raise the GST or increase taxes, insisting Australians are already overtaxed, and we simply can't take anymore. Hanson outlined that the government should be focussed on cutting spending, not increasing taxes. One Nation’s stance is to cut $90 billion in government bureaucracy; including withdrawing from the UN Paris Agreement, and review and redirect Indigenous affairs spending to where it’s truly needed. Joined by IPA’s Daniel Wild, the panel warned that Australia’s trillion-dollar debt can only be tackled through smarter spending cuts and economic growth — not by hitting families harder at the checkout.
