Lee Hanson: Labor's WFH Mandate Will Kill Victorian Jobs

The Victorian Government has no right to dictate how businesses manage their workforce. Mandating two days of work-from-home per week is blatant government overreach.

Businesses must be free to decide their own operational models, based on their industry, clientele, and staffing needs. Forcing a one-size-fits-all policy will cripple businesses, particularly small and medium enterprises who rely on flexibility to survive.

This policy will inevitably lead to:

  • Businesses reducing their footprint or relocating interstate.
  • Companies seeking to offshore jobs to countries where remote workforces come at a cheaper rate.

The government’s interference in private enterprise is a recipe for economic decline and job losses. Victoria should be open for business—not driving it away.
