One Nation Candidates on the Frontlines for Everyday Australians
This week, One Nation’s candidates have been hitting the airwaves across the country, promoting Australian values and doing the hard work of standing up for everyday Aussies.
Rebecca Hewett: Standing Up for Her Community
Cr Rebecca Hewett, One Nation’s candidate for Mayo (SA), has been making headlines with her dedication to representing her constituents. Recently, Rebecca sparked a huge local debate by questioning the Mount Barker District Council’s decision to fund a divisive 'Survival Day' event on January 26 using ratepayers' money.
In response to widespread community concerns, Rebecca launched a Facebook poll to gauge public opinion. The results were clear: 85% of participants opposed the funding. However, the council’s mayor demanded the poll’s removal, claiming it breached 'behavioral standards.' Ironically, it seems that asking your constituents for their views is now deemed ‘inappropriate’ by the council.
Rebecca didn’t back down. She voiced her frustration with the council’s lack of transparency and their unwillingness to engage with the community. "As an elected representative, my role is to represent my constituents and listen to their concerns,” Rebecca said. “I won’t be silenced for doing my job or standing up for what I believe is right.”
This level of commitment and courage is exactly what Senator Pauline Hanson expects from MPs, and we are confident that Rebecca Hewett would make an excellent addition to Sarah Game in representing South Australia in parliament.
Brent Larkham: Fighting for Pensioners in New England
Meanwhile, Brent Larkham, One Nation’s candidate for New England, has been hard at work connecting with locals and championing policies that matter. Brent recently took to the airwaves to discuss One Nation’s commitment to allowing pensioners to keep their pensions, no matter how much they work each week.
Brent plans to spend Australia Day touring the New England electorate, proudly singing the national anthem at local events and engaging with the community. One Nation is incredibly proud of our candidates, who come from diverse backgrounds and bring real-life experience to politics. Brent, for example, is not only a dedicated musician but also a mechanic. Like our leader, Pauline Hanson, many of our candidates are small business people who understand the challenges Australians face every day.
Stay tuned as our candidates continue to work hard for their communities and bring much-needed common sense to the political stage.
