One Nation in the race for Monash
One Nation has announced Kuljeet Kuar Robinson as its candidate for Monash in the upcoming federal election.
Kuljeet Kuar, a mental health nurse from Cranbourne, said she is committed to protecting Australian jobs, industry, agriculture and manufacturing, and is stepping up to ensure regional communities like those in Monash receive the attention and investment they deserve.
“Our leaders have forgotten who they serve. They prioritise corporate interests, foreign ownership and shortterm political gains while everyday Australians struggle with the rising cost of living and job insecurity,” Kuljeet Kuar said.
“We need strong leadership that prioritises Australian workers, supports our local industries and protects the future of our regions.
“The destruction of Australian manufacturing has been one of the biggest betrayals of our country.
“We need to bring back industries that provide secure jobs, reduce reliance on foreign imports and ensure that Australians have access to quality, locally made products.”
Kuljeet Kuar said energy affordability was another key issue for the people of Monash, particularly as rising power costs continue.
“Australians are paying some of the highest energy prices in the world, despite our country being rich in natural resources.
“We need an energy policy that benefits Australians - not global corporations or overseas interests.”
Kuljeet Kuar said she also believes in protecting Australia's natural heritage and ensuring that environmental policies are balanced with the needs of local communities.
She advocates for sustainable development that supports farmers, regional businesses, and families without imposing unnecessary restrictions that stifle growth.
“I stand with Pauline Hanson and One Nation because they fight for everyday Australians,” Kuljeet Kuar said.
“It's time to put our country, our industries and our people first.”
Switch
In last year's local government elections in November, Kuljeet Kuar ran in the Quarters Ward in Casey.
She received 13.27 per cent of first preference votes.
At the time, she told local media she was a member of the Labor Party, but was running as an independent candidate.
Since then, she has switched alliances, citing the Labor Party's decision to provide support to a Muslim candidate as “concerning”.
“This situation led me to feel that I could no longer place my trust in the Labor Party, as it appeared they were not being transparent with their members, let alone the general public,” she told the Advertiser.
“While I had not been particularly active within the Labor Party, I came to realise that the party no longer represented the values of hardworking Australians, such as myself.
“I have long had respect for Pauline Hanson; however, I was not initially aware of the full scope or presence of One Nation.
“My decision to run with One Nation stems from a growing frustration with the current political landscape and a sense that everyday Australians are not being genuinely represented,” she said.
“Over time, I found that my values and priorities aligned more closely with the vision that One Nation advocates - particularly in areas such as strengthening the economy, ensuring national security, and addressing issues concerning immigration and local communities.”
