One Nation senator sets off on outback pub
One Nation politicians will start a 3000 kilometre outback pub crawl on Sunday, February 23.
It's all part of promoting their proposed policies of cutting 26 cents per litre in fuel tax, removing the alcohol tax on drinks sold in licensed venues and reducing power bills by 20 per cent.
Senator Malcolm Roberts plans to hit the road to visit outback towns, pubs and businesses where he said excise and expenses are crippling communities.
"In many Outback towns, the pubs are in danger of becoming extinct, with the cost of overheads forcing them to shut their doors," Mr Roberts said.
"The outback and the bush are often silent victims of government policies. More than most communities, the outback feels increases to the cost of transport yet politicians in Canberra often do not hear these voices crying out for acknowledgment of the pain Canberra is inflicting."
Towns on the 3000km itinerary include Warwick, Goondiwindi, St George, Roma, Charleville, Quilpie, Stonehenge, Longreach, Emerald and Moura.
