Pauline Hanson Demands AFP Probe into Lidia Thorpe’s Parliament House Threat
Pauline Hanson has called for the Australian Federal Police to investigate Senator Lidia Thorpe over comments made during a pro-Palestinian rally where Thorpe reportedly spoke about burning down Parliament House. Pauline Hanson described the remarks as a serious threat and an act of treason, arguing that such statements cannot be dismissed lightly, especially from a sitting senator.
According to Pauline Hanson, those in public office have a duty to uphold the values and integrity of the Australian Parliament, not to undermine them with dangerous rhetoric. She believes the Australian Federal Police should treat the comments as a criminal matter and hold Senator Thorpe accountable for any potential incitement.
Senator Thorpe has since claimed that her comments were not meant to be taken literally. However, Pauline Hanson insists that public figures must take responsibility for their words, especially when those words can influence or endanger others.
The controversy has reignited debate about accountability and conduct among members of Parliament, with Pauline Hanson standing firm on her call for immediate investigation and appropriate consequences.
