Pauline’s take on yesterday’s tragic incident. The reality is that Pauline herself has been on the receiving end of a number of vile threats over the past few months and has had to take extra steps to boost her own security.

The Prime Minister has talked about “turning down the temperature”; it’s a bit rich coming from him, bearing in mind that apparently his own office put together a dirt sheet on Helen Haines.

At this stage, it is too early to come to sweeping conclusions about what took place yesterday. But it is fair to say that so much of the hatred that has infected our politics over recent years comes from the left.
