Pauline Hanson's tour of Western Australia ended with a gin and tonic at a Wheatbelt pub where excited locals said her presence was “pretty amazing” despite her “outrageous” views.

Leader of the One Nation WA Rod Caddies organised the MP's regional tour, which started with the Muresk parliamentary hearing into Federal Labor's live sheep export ban and was followed by visits to Merredin, Wagin, and Narrogin.

Ms Hanson and her team arrived at The Duke of York Hotel in Narrogin at 6.15pm on Friday.

The older crowd was initially quiet, but after the first person asked Ms Hanson for a selfie, the anxious chatter dissolved into friendly introductions.

Speaking to the Observer, Ms Hanson said she was delighted by the warm welcome.

“I feel honoured as most people don't take a political interest,” she said.

The MP said her visit was not about the One Nation Party but about empowering people who feel forgotten and helping struggling towns.

“We are here to save them,” she said.

“People are looking for an MP who will take an interest in them.

“I think it's important that you have the opportunity to speak to a member of the Federal Parliament about what is happening.”

The MP addressed the room and affirmed her alliance with farmers and regional towns in their support of the live sheep export trade.

Ms Hanson also confirmed her support for fracking after a member of the audience asked her for her thoughts on the practice.

Narrogin local Barry McNab was one of the 65 attendees who were excited to meet Ms Hanson. “Her views are outrageous sometimes, but she's representing farmers,” Mr McNab said.

“It's pretty amazing Pauline's coming here; we don't get people like that.”

“It's brilliant, brilliant, it's good to see someone in person, it's good to meet her,” fellow local Russell McCaughey said.
