Pledge to Protect the Australian Flag

The Australian flag is is our most important symbol—it’s a symbol of our history, our values, and our shared identity. It represents the sacrifices of those who came before us, the spirit of mateship and resilience, and the bright future we strive for as a nation.

From the Southern Cross to the Union Jack, each element of our flag tells a story: of our entire national heritage, our connection to the Commonwealth, and the unity of our states.

Through times of war and peace, our flag has flown high—on the battlefields of Gallipoli, in the jungles of Kokoda, and above the towns and cities that define our land. It has been carried with pride by Australians who believed in something greater than themselves.

Today, we pledge to honour and protect this enduring emblem of Australia.

Some radicals, especially the Labor and Greens parties (as well as some Liberals), want to change our national identity and dump the flag.

We pledge to oppose any change to our national flag, and as Australians we will do everything we can to protect the flag.

We pledge to respect the Australian flag, teach its significance, and preserve its place as a symbol of unity and pride for all Australians.

This is our flag. This is our pledge.
