One Nation Senator Malcolm Roberts has vowed to protest daily against the Acknowledgement of Country in Federal Parliament, calling it a "token gesture" that fails to improve the lives of First Australians. Along with three other One Nation senators, Roberts turned his back during the Indigenous acknowledgment on Parliament’s opening day, stating, “We don’t have to be welcomed to our own country every day—especially in our universities.”
