Rod Caddies is a dedicated leader whose challenging past has fuelled his commitment to family, faith, and country. Raised in Western Australia’s South West, Rod faced significant hardships, including periods in state care alongside his sibling. Yet, he reflects positively on his childhood, crediting his loving family for instilling values of resilience, mateship, and personal responsibility. “Mum struggled at times, and we weren’t easy kids, but those experiences shaped who I am today,” he says.

Rod’s diverse career reflects his deep connection to regional WA. He served in the Australian Defence Force, where he honed skills and deepened his pride in Australia. His 15 years as a frontline Child Protection officer were driven by empathy for children facing struggles similar to his own. “I understood what those kids needed to find their way, even in dangerous or heartbreaking situations,” he recalls. His ability to connect with vulnerable youth earned him respect as a skilled Residential Care officer often assigned the toughest cases. Rod also worked in mining, construction, agriculture, and as a rodeo promoter, organising events that brought communities together in remote and regional WA.

Drawn to politics by his experiences in child welfare, Rod became an early supporter of Pauline Hanson’s One Nation. His leadership was pivotal in electing three One Nation MPs in WA in 2017. From 2017 to 2022, he served as Chief of Staff to the WA State Leader, gaining invaluable insight into parliamentary operations. Rod’s strategic guidance was crucial to One Nation’s success in the 2025 state and federal elections, leading to his own election to the WA Legislative Council in May 2025.

As WA State Leader, Rod champions practical solutions to restore standards in health, education, housing, and cost of living. “I’m proud to represent One Nation’s common-sense vision for WA,” he says. “I fight for what I believe in and speak the truth, no matter who dislikes it.” Known for his direct approach, Rod asks tough questions in Parliament and addresses issues head-on.

Rod lives in Perth with his wife, Monique, and their young daughter, where they run a horse-riding school. A father of three, he remains deeply connected to his community and committed to serving Western Australians. “It’s a privilege to represent One Nation,” he says. “I’ll keep fighting for what matters, and no one will intimidate me.”
