Warren Pickering: A Story of Service, Accountability and Second Chances

Not all politicians are made in a petri dish. Warren Pickering certainly wasn’t. He made some big mistakes when he was younger. He subsequently served his country in the ADF and has turned his life around. His daughter and stepson were both at the press conference yesterday to support him.

It’s clear that huge numbers of Aussies across the country identify with Warren’s story. However, it really says something about sections of our media that yesterday’s news conference was even necessary.

It goes to show the depths that some media outlets will sink to achieve their political objectives. It doesn’t matter what hurt they cause or the private lives they intrude into that are not of public interest.
