Trump Shares Australia's Feelings Towards Rudd
When Kevin Rudd travelled to China as Prime Minister, he made a catastrophic diplomatic blunder. Speaking in fluent Mandarin at Beijing University, he lectured his hosts on their human rights record — in their own language, no less. That reckless, undiplomatic speech blew up years of hard-won goodwill and triggered a two-decade decline in Australia–China relations. Rudd thought it made him look clever and worldly. In reality, it exposed him as arrogant and naïve — the very traits that have marked his entire political career.
