James Ashby of One Nation pointed out that insurance expenses have surged due to the escalating crime rates in regional Queensland.

He stated, "Rising crime in areas such as Townsville, Cairns, Rockhampton, and Toowoomba has led to a substantial increase in insurance claims, consequently driving up insurance premiums."
