  • Farrer Irrigators Need Strategic Reforms Not More Buybacks

    Posted by · April 10, 2026 4:33 PM

With irrigators in the region facing the prospect of more water buybacks and reduced productivity, the Farrer by-election is looming as a referendum on water reform in the Murray Darling Basin.

One Nation candidate for Farrer David Farley said irrigators in the electorate needed certainty from candidates contesting the seat.

“The teal candidate at this by-election has said she doesn’t support buybacks but she’s being backed by people who explicitly support more buybacks,” Mr Farley said. “This isn’t good enough for irrigators in Farrer, who can’t possibly have any confidence this candidate will support them.

“One Nation opposed Labor’s changes made to the Basin Plan in 2023; changes which will result in more buybacks in Farrer. Every teal and Green in Parliament supported more buybacks despite the clear evidence they directly harm irrigation communities and industries.

“My position, and One Nation’s, is crystal clear. We’ll reintroduce the cap on buybacks – the cap that teals and the Greens voted to remove. We’ll re-introduce the socio-economic test for the additional 450 GL. We’ll restore balance to the Basin Plan.

“Irrigators in Farrer have given up enough of their water. We should be exhausting all other forms of water recovery before we ask irrigators to give up any more.

“Despite what Labor, the Greens and teals believe, water is not just for environmental flows. We need to see water for what it is: a strategic resource essential for a wide range of industries and jobs – especially agriculture – and for a growing population and economy.

“We need to manage the Basin for Australia’s future. We need an investment mindset when it comes to water, not an extraction mindset. Basin water management needs to focus not on who gets the water, but on ensuring there’s enough for everyone.

“That’s my focus too. Farrer’s economy and communities rely strongly on irrigation. I want our economy and our communities to grow and thrive, not stagnate or decline. This means investing in water security, not taking it away like the teals and the Greens have done.”

  • Fuel Crisis Response Draws Criticism From Opposition

    Posted by · April 10, 2026 4:11 PM

As One Nation Chief of Staff James Ashby has said, Anthony Albanese is a failed Prime Minister.

He hasn’t brought prices down. Power bills have surged. Fuel costs are biting hard. And he seems completely out of touch with what Australian families are going through.

While the opposition parties bicker and take pot shots at Pauline Hanson, One Nation is standing up and calling Labor out.

Australians deserve leadership that understands the pressure they’re under and is prepared to act.

  • Australia's renewables plan on track to become one trillion dollar financial disaster

    Posted by · April 09, 2026 4:26 PM

Australia’s renewables experiment is falling apart.

It’s set to cost over a trillion dollars, it’s not delivering the reliable energy we need to grow the economy, and families are paying the price through higher power bills. On top of that, it’s chewing up valuable farming land and won’t make a difference to global temperatures at all.

These industrial-scale projects have become a taxpayer-funded racket. A One Nation government would be quick to pull the plug on funding.

Enough is enough. And at the ballot box, voters should send a clear message to any candidate backing these outrageous, failed projects.

  • David Farley Time for Change

    Posted by · April 09, 2026 1:01 PM

Letter to the Editor - Jacqueline Robertson - From Jerilderie

    Dear Editor

I agree 100 per cent that what we need is a Royal Commission into the Murray Darling Basin Plan.

The cost alone of running it is $4.2 billion per year, which is equivalent to building four major hospitals per year.

The buybacks alone have led to a cut in food production and diminished national food security and destroyed the irrigation farming industry.

The scientific research behind sending water down the river to South Australia is more than questionable, and disadvantages the farmers in this region.

Labor and the Coalition have failed to listen to the cries of the people of this electorate.

It’s time for a Royal Commission to get to the bottom of the issues and then have a government who prioritises addressing those issues.

David Farley is the One Nation candidate for the Farrer by-election - a local who has managed large enterprises in our electorate only to see them destroyed by the Murray Darling Basin plan.

Today, what were once thriving enterprises are now largely gone.

David Farley is a man on a mission to see this issue addressed.

One Nation has pledged to withdraw from the international treaties that severely disadvantage the farmers, set up a Royal Commission and lastly to allocate the communities the amount of water they need to build in resilience and enhance food production which will benefit farmers and lead to thriving communities.

One Nation is the common-sense party that Australia needs to turn back our nation so that we can once again become the ‘Lucky Country’.

Pauline Hanson has publicly stood up for issues no one else is game to talk about. One Nation is a party for the people.

David Farley visited Finley on March 18 to gather support in our region at the Finley Country Club.

This coming by-election on May 9 is going to be a test case for the Federal Election that is coming in 2028.

It’s time to elect people who will listen and act on a myriad of issues facing our nation.

A vote for an independent is a wasted vote. With the national trend, One Nation will have the machinery in place and the political teeth in Canberra to effect the changes we are all crying out for.
